The brief for a new website for Swiss International Airlines was to go beyond a simple ticketing site. To get people as excited to travel with an airline that prides itself not just for the kind of quality and passenger care a Swiss airline can offer, but also for its destination expertise. To position Swiss as not just another high-end flag carrier airline, but as a go-to brand for everything travel.

The result was — effectively — two websites in one.

The e-commerce side of the website conceptually and visually aligned with its offline ad campaign, to serve as a digital touchstone for the brand's and campaign's promise.

Going further than that, a dynamic, living microsite was created adjecent to the ticketing site — subtly accessed by a CTA in the screen's corner on desktop, or by turning a phone to landscape orientation.

The goal of this microsite was to further deliver on the brand and campaign promise, with rich bespoke content related to destiations to which SWISS flies, contributions from SWISS pilots and cabin crew on all things travel, interest-targeted content for signed-in users (for example: foodie content, cultural events at a destination, and so on), and real-time aggregation of new content on SWISS's social media channels.
